A couple things.
He lives under a rock.
He has no friends or family.
He has somehow unattached himself from the world.
By the way, who sent the text message, and when did they actually send it? If it was sent close to the same time as it was received, those two need to look at getting themselves upgraded on their friends' "importance" lists.

the guy wasn't in the communications program or have motab, but he was wearing a scarf and a newsies hat. I am just surprised that he had a friend that would text him.

i am assuming the text was something like: "so what do u think about pres. hinkley passing" there is no way that there were two people who hadn't heard til then. I had all sorts of people from my mission in brasil calling me to find out if it was true that night.

I'd bet that he just turned on his cell phone and his message popped up or something. I'm in Iowa and received probably 6-7 txts within a five minute period, and I'm not that cool.
