This was the story I was originally going to go with instead of the hobo story but I forgot !

"I used to work as a test pilot for the military. That was until I test flew a new super secret helicopter that could do amazing things. The problem was that the government was going to use it for police and military reasons that I didn't agree with so I stole it and now hide it in a cave, using it only to fight against government tyranny and opression or to fight crime. I can't tell you where I live because I don't want the government to find me since they are unable to disern the location of my secret hiden batcave hanger, I mean wolfcave hanger.

It is great to see that the posters on this board are pretty well educated and/or experienced. I also like the idea of BYU-blue school teachers. We need more educators in the mainstream that don't buy into to mainstream.
And although we don't have the numbers of other boards I think we make up for it with the quality of posts and the feeling of a small community instead of just a big forum where you get alot of fly by night posters on here writing off the wall or basically "idiotic" comments. So kudos to all.

ps still waiting for cruiser's bio Just kidding cruiser. If you are in a spot that will put you at risk of anything negative I wholly agree with the annonimity you need. But don't stop posting. Just give less info. You can still post your opinion or your feelings about the team.

I guess I'll play too. I am an elementary teacher in SW Washington. Always been a big Cougar fan. Went there right after the mission, got married and moved closer to wife's family. Ended up graduating from WSU so I am technically a Cougar. My claim to fame is that I was unofficially recruited by Norm Chow at the Subway in Burley, ID. My wife and I were stopped there on a trip back to Provo. I recognized him right away. In the sandwich line he saw the BYU sticker in the car window, asked if I was a student and if I was interested in playing football. I am pretty big and did play varsity ball in HS. So, I can honestly say I was recruited by Norm Chow, even if it was extremely unofficial.

Where abouts in SW washington? I lived in vancouver until I was 16 (fairly close to evergreen high school)?

I teach in Washougal and live up the Gorge.

All my kids graduated from Washougal High. We lived there from 1991 - 2003 (Mt. Norway Ward). I was on the city council until we sold our house and moved to AZ in 2003.

Where do you live in the Gorge? I spent 14 months living in North Bonneville (2005-6) while working a contract job in Stevenson.

I live in Stevenson. I think I might remember you. I can't recall the name but I think I can picture you. There have been a couple of people here for short periods of time but I remember a guy in software that was from Arizona. I was in the bishopric of the Stevenson Ward for most of '05, but then called to the High Council for most of '06 so I wasn't around much.

Is your last name Johnston?

Close enough.

Small world, huh?

Are you going to the BYU/UW game this year? I'm thinking about flying up to Portland and then driving from there with one of my boys.

I think so. My brother in law is a prof at UW so I have spoken to him about tickets. The only problem with that is I would end up right among the UW fans when I would rather be among the Cougar fans.

I just wanted to add my first memory of BYU football. I went to my uncle's house to watch the BYU Miami game. I was too young to realize the full significance of the game, I just remember that my dad really wanted BYU to win, but didn't think it was very likely. I went outside to play with my cousins, but dad called us in when it started to look like BYU would win. He didn't think we should miss that. I don't remember much of what happened during the game, only my dad and my uncle's excited yelling.

Fell in love with BYU football on cool fall mornings in the 70's raking leaves with my dad and listening to Paul James on KSL. Grew up in Ogden and enjoyed Weber State Basketball.

Attended Gratuate school at the Y in '92, got a Master's in 95 and Ph.D. in 2000. I work for the Department of Homeland Security where I head up all critical incident response to traumatic events for US Customs and Border Protection. Live in SoCal but travel all over all of the time.

The only time my kids don't know how to act around me is when BYU is playing football. They don't see me so "out of control" any other time. But I assure them I'm ok and they are safe - even if I scream at the TV.

I think we should change the title of this post to "The Mormon Connection!" I have really enjoyed getting familiar with the backgrounds of those who are on this board. Oh, and my wife and I do have one thing that we both enjoy...watching the pukes lose.

I'm an English teacher in Utah.

I never went to BYU; I was an in-the-closet BYU fan at Utah State. (You wouldn't believe how many of those there are.) I just barely was accepted to graduate school at BYU. I'm really excited because I never had the grades and thought that I would never get to go to BYU.

My connection with BYU is that I had a handicapped friend in elementary school that loved BYU. He always invited me over to watch old games. He got me hooked to BYU football and basketball then and today, we both have season tickets to the games. I love Bronco. Go Cougars
