Not sports-related, but it did happen in Orem, otherwise known as Provo-On-The-Hill.
This thief got caught twice in vehicle-related thefts in a two week period. I loved his excuses:
1. When caught in a truck cab, the guy said he "was completely innocent and had simply been walking through the parking lot when he saw the semi and noticed it was full of sleeping bags. He went to look inside the truck because he hated to think of anyone spending the night sleeping out when his mother would be only too happy to offer a stranger a bed."
2. Two weeks later, when caught with his mother's car in someone else's garage, he said he "found(?) a garage door opener laying on the ground. He came back in his mother's Explorer and opened the garage door and found it empty. He then pulled in and closed the door behind him."
Mom must be so proud!
