This is an awfully tragic shame! My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Chelsi and Paul. Sorry to be insensitive, but does anyone know if she was still waiting for James Lark on his mission? Because I remember they used to date in high school because Lark was a bud of mine.

Though it is hard to cope for those who are left behind, what a blessing it is to have the knowledge of God's plan of salvation. May God heal the Broken hearts of the many that are affected by this awful tragedy. Such a beautiful girl gone far too early...Though I didn't know her personally I knew of her and many people admired her greatly. She will be sorely missed, may God be thanked for the wonderful life of Chelsi Petersen...

The reality of events like this are a forceful reminder of how fragile this life is and how important it is to live it to the fullest. My heartfelt condolences go to Chelsi's family and friends in remembrance of a wonderful but tragically short life.

I don't know Chelsi in any way, but when I read about her tragic death I was completely heartbroken. Although we have a comforting knowledge of life after death, it is still painful to see such a beautiful person with so much talent taken from us. My prayers are with her family and friends as they cope. I understand a little how it feels having lost a cousin only a couple of years ago to a tragic auto accident. For weeks I felt numb, as if it were some sort of a bad dream. God bless those close to her who are dealing with this.

At the track nationals, the U of U athletes come up with a way they and the BYU team can honor Chelsi Peterson.

It's powerful to see compassion and sportsmanship in athletics.

Thanks for pointing that out. Since I go out of my way to joke about the Utes, it is only fair to applaud and express thanks when something classy like this is done. So a big HURRAH to the Ute athletes for doing this....
