Are you talking about Kearl the econ teacher? i have been trying to find out what he had to do with it if it was him

EDIT: Never mind, i answered my own question. I had Kearl and i really liked him and found him tough, but fair.

The real scandal is the Kearl is a Democrat! How could he be fair!!

We have to do something? Here are some suggestions.

1. Stop jumping to conclusions. It's not a sport, though some posters appear to have trained long and hard.

2. Stop making judgments in matters that are none of our business.

3. Stop assuming that because we have an interest in BYU and its athletic programs, anything that happens is our business, and that we have a right to second guess anything we think might impair our vicarious participation.

Before you all start calling for job loses or worse people being dissmissed from callings, remember there are some things about this story none of us know. The bit of info I find interesting is that some quorum of the twelve member agreed with the young man leaving BYU. For some that might not be enough but for me it is. Plus that alone tells me that somthing else is going on and we don't know what it is. Now we are asking Holme to go against the advice of an apostle.

Another thing you need to remeber is that this story came out in the S.L. Trib. and during LOI week with very vague details. We all know that this paper is Love U of U hate BYU and Love Libral / Democrat hate Conservative / Republican. Do you really think that the story is vague by accident, or that it came out this week? Come on!

Those were some good points Winnemucca.

I have faith that if there had truly been an injustice, an apostle would have corrected said injustice because he is a special witness for a just God. JMHO

You need to remember that sometimes they don't disclose all the facts to save the kid from embarassment. Perhaps not attending church is the reason they tell the public so the kid doesn't look bad, and BYU does. Do you know what else he did? Don't know. Don't need to know. BYU is pretty merciful if you make some mistakes, but only the serious ones get you kicked out. Even Manase Tonga went to jail and wasn't kicked out. So, hopefully that helps everyone. GO Cougars!

I just want know why the Salt Lake Tribune is the only source we have found for this. When I did a search on other local news sites this morning, nothing came up. Why is it such a big deal to the Tribune?

the tribune is not owned by the church, but the d-news is. if you don't think that is a factor, you would be wrong. i also think it says something that the athletic department is supporting the kid, and not the admin on this one.

i don't know what happened. still, when i read the article, first i cringed, then i was thankful that i didn't have that bishop when i was there.

i played on the rugby team from 87-91. most of our games were on saturdays, so sunday was a difficult day from a pain management perspective. a good day ment only stiffness due to lactic acid build up, and a few bruises. a bad day could mean muscle spasms or worse. sitting for one hour, let alone three, was not going to happen on a bad day. add to that that fact that many times i chose to attend a different ward due the pursuit of attractive companionship, and i missed alot of sundays in my assigned ward.

fortunetly i had bishops, who understood, encouraged, and supported me in my time there.
