I just want know why the Salt Lake Tribune is the only source we have found for this. When I did a search on other local news sites this morning, nothing came up. Why is it such a big deal to the Tribune?
the tribune is not owned by the church, but the d-news is. if you don't think that is a factor, you would be wrong. i also think it says something that the athletic department is supporting the kid, and not the admin on this one.
i don't know what happened. still, when i read the article, first i cringed, then i was thankful that i didn't have that bishop when i was there.
i played on the rugby team from 87-91. most of our games were on saturdays, so sunday was a difficult day from a pain management perspective. a good day ment only stiffness due to lactic acid build up, and a few bruises. a bad day could mean muscle spasms or worse. sitting for one hour, let alone three, was not going to happen on a bad day. add to that that fact that many times i chose to attend a different ward due the pursuit of attractive companionship, and i missed alot of sundays in my assigned ward.
fortunetly i had bishops, who understood, encouraged, and supported me in my time there.
