So, Airwolf, is your name Jason? I bet it's Lacey.
Note that their ages indicate that they were likely born in 1984

etyotxKSL reported today that the two players are currently (as of noon) in jail and that the girlfriend was released on bond.
Byron Rex you, Airwolf!
Can't you just say "Andrew Bogut and Michael Vick salute you."..?

This is a very sad story. I wish if it had to have happened at all, that it happened with the two players there when the losers threw the water balloon at the girl so they could justifiably want to beat the crap out of them. Instead they made a conscious error in judgment.

And to think, this after a practice spent watching Testaments.

ABYUFANAirwolf84mravenIf someone had chucked a water balloon at my girlfriend when I was in college, I probably would have tried to beat the crap out of them, too. I don't think this is a real big deal and I hope they are back with the team soon.
You don't break into someone's place over a water balloon, even if it hit a girl. Last time I checked, water balloons were harmless, unless they've suddenly become lethal somehow?
It would be too easy to say that you feel this way because are the type to throw water balloons and then hide in your apartment. So I won't (oops I guess I just did)
Assuming this is the first offense; and there was no beating going on, these guys (in a civilized society) would plead down to two misdemeanors, get credit for time served and be done with it. It will be a costly lesson; it needn’t ruin their whole life. Unfortunately the weasel who started this thing (most likely a Ute, based on the fact that he wouldn’t face up to what he did.) For, as the lawyers on this site will tell you. Throwing water balloons on people is actually a battery.
I suspect the players may be allowed to plead to misdemeanors. By the way, the Utah Criminal Code does not refer to battery. Offenses against the person are found in 76-5-101 et. seq. lists assault and related offenses. Battery is not one of them.

In most other states battery is listed as an "offensive touching." Because The University of Utah is in Salt Lake City and any contact with the U would be "offensive," It's likely that that was removed from the Utah Criminal Code to keep all of the Utes from being even more criminal...
