I wish I had FSC but thanks to ESPN...it looks like the US has taken the lead thanks to a Donovan PK and a Feilhaber one-timer.

Post edited by: gordito, at: 2007/06/24 14:42

It's over. 2-1 US. Feilhaber goal was superb. But the PK was another ref gift. It was a really exciting game. I am soooo angry, frustrated, etc. right now. I'll go take a walk before I vent my feelings with R-rated words...

Post edited by: mjo, at: 2007/06/24 15:08

That was a fun game to watch. Both teams blew some chances. I'm not sure I've ever seen an easier goal missed than the one Beasley kicked off the crossbar. Then Chings floater that hit the bar.. wow. Mexico dominated the first half but seemed to lose steam in the second.

Now for the US.. it's off to copa america (minus Donovan, Beasley).. That Argentina game could get ugly.

Wow, what a game! The way soccer is called, PK's are always gifts from the ref. At least Donovan didn't kick it down the middle like everyone thought he would. And that Feilhaber goal was the best goal I ever seen a USMNT player take.

Mexico was the same as always. They play much better technical game than the US and dominate most parts of the game, but if they get behind they seem to freak out. They'll still carry the play but just can't finish when they get the chance. Then the US will get a breakout goal on counterattack (though this time the US drew posts on the potential clinching goals).
