I've been unimpressed with mexico in the gold cup.. They're barely squeaking by, whereas the US has been beating teams easy. I'm just happy we're not playing Bruce Arena conservative soccer anymore.

Beating teams easy? I guess you missed the games vs Panama and Canada. You had some close calls. But I agree, Mexico has played some really bad games. I hope that they'll show up against the US, or else we'll have to swallow another US victory again. It is specially frustrating for us Mexican fans because soccer its the only sport where we have a chance to take you guys, but we have been blowing it lately. Add to it that every time its Mexico who is trying to attack while the US sits back defending with 8 or 9 guys, waiting for a lightning-fast counter-attack... Not pretty, but effective. I hope my team finds a way to beat you guys this time. And yeah, not shaking hands or exchanging jerseys is just not right.


I also disagree with forzacougs' statement that US soccer is better than Mexico's. I'd say its pretty much even. You don't defeat us in Mexico, we don't defeat you in the US. And your domestic league honestly sucks. You only have have-beens that want to make some good cash before retiring. ANyway, may the best team win tomorrow.

Yes, but we beat you on a neutral site in a world cup. I'll take that over a win in Mexico any day.

Well, now that U.S. is without Bradley and Hejduk--who both have had amazing tournaments--I'm beginning to think tomorrow's match is going to be closer than I thought.

And yeah, the U.S. hasn't exactly had an impressive tournament. They really should have gone into extra time with Canada. The U.S. has been better than Mexico, but only marginally. Should be a good match tomorrow.

I wouldn't say the MLS sucks, though it's definitely not on par with top European leagues. The good thing is that the MLS improved by the day--it's only been in existance for about 13 years. We'll see how it compares with Mexico's Primera Division in the upcoming SuperLiga tournament. Anyway, call Beckham a wash-up if you want, but he's looked awfully good in his recent matches with England. Sure, he's past his prime, but anyone talented enough to maintain a key role with England national team is better than anyone the MLS has ever had.

What? Panama didn't score until the 84th minute and the Canada game should've been 3-1 if donovan hadn't whoofed on that easy shot. I watched every US game and while not all games were blowouts score-wise, it was obvious the US was in control of the games. Look at the goal differential for the US compared to every other team in the tournament. US was +7... Mexico was +1.
