How about Mexico and their 2-0 victory over Brasil? As much as I don't like the Mexican team, at least someone is toeing the line for CONCACAF. Unlike Sunday against the US when Mexico lost on an amazing strike by Feilhaber, last night Mexico was on the good side of a world class goal--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYhqZqV1Omw.
yeah, props to Mexico. I was rooting for em. They played great and I'm glad Nery Castillo didn't play against the US. From what he showed against Brasil, he's their best weapon. But sadly all this reaffirms the notion that, while the US can beat up on CONCACAF, they wilt against the good international teams.
I thought it was telling that even after they fell down 2-1, they still insisted on packing in the defense and playing counterattack. Meanwhile Argentina kicked the ball around and ate up clock. I don't know if it's coaching or players' inexperience, but they've gotta be a little more dynamic with the gameplan.
