Having a quarterback that has some great skill ("...best QB we played against all year...&quot, has the complete support of his teammates and is confident enough that if a few passes or plays go wrong during the first Q, he won't come apart and collapse from insecurity--that should win a few games.

So the key is this first game, really, even if we lose. If Hall keeps fighting to the very end (say, like an 06 Beck), then we can be assured that we've got a good thing here. Amen. What we lacked in the 'zona game last year was ANYBODY with confidence (other than Vakapuna, that played very little). I think Anae had not come out of his shell either at that point. I'm tellin' ya- this feels right.

If we had had even slightly more aggressive play calling in the AZ game, we would have won easily. I was so frustrated watching that game, the play calling was frankly terrible. In my occasionally Humble, but usually quite homeristic and often right opinion, that Loss was on Anae's head.

Agreed. I say he lost the Utah game, and TCU the year before, (and made plenty of mistakes along the way). One thing that is different in Anae, that what we have not had for the last several years- he LEARNS! He is becoming a true OC, and I'm excited at the prospect of him calling the plays with some real talent to execute them.
