My thoughts on the Arizona game (whatever they are worth) 1 Year ago Karma: 16
I have been reading posts by Arizona fans who seem to be shocked that we have the audacity to believe that our lowly cougars have a chance to beat the mighty Arizona wildcats. Cats fans have every right to root for their team, but frankly I don't see where the confidence comes from (on their part). Here is the reason why I believe that BYU wins this game and wins it easily; Coaching.

Cats fans think (for some reason) that Stoops is a good coach, I think that he should have had that thing turned around by now. I have read by Arizona fans that Bronco didn't have to turn around a 2 win team, that he didn't have to fix player revolts, blah, blah blah. Bronco hasn't had a top 10 recruiting year either and look what his freshman do in games.

If you cats fans don't believe me when I say that if Stoops was going to get that program turned around, it should have happened by now, just look at what Tedford did at CAL, or what has happened at USC. It doesn't take 5 years to see improvement in a program (when I say improvement, I mean wins).

Finally, don't be suprised when Arizona has another mediocre year under stoops and be less suprised when BYU has another steller year under Bronco. Good coaching causes wins, and it happens immediately and continues year after year. BYU is the team that is on a 10 game winning streak, it has little to do with Beck, Brown, and Harline even though they were great players, they were just performing the way that they were taught to do in practice.

Nobody will be surprised when you guys have a good season. Just like nobody will be surprised when you start out 0-2. Just like nobody was surprised when we beat you last year. For the record Stoops will be entering year four not five. Also for the record, 3 wins to 6 wins is considered progress. Keep thinking that your key losses from last years team arent that big of a deal. You have know idea what Stoops came into when he took this job, but you got a small taste of the direction we are going last year. Prepare for a large dose this year when we do it at your place.

Obviously this post is meant for cougar fans because you have no idea what you are talking about as it relates to AZ football. Seriously!!!

As far as confidence goes - AZ doesn't turn a blind eye that you couldn't rush the ball LY, that you lost 4 skill players on offense and you are starting a new Qb.

Last year was last year, we WILL run the ball effectivley as long as we do not have any injuries on our Oline. Our new oline coach who has been coaching offensive lineman for 27 years in division 1 football said yesterday that this is one of the best, if not the best oline units he has ever coached. when listening to him it did not sound like coach speak at all.

We are confident in our abilities, this does not make us stupid about football like you say. But, you guys sit there and act like we have no shot, and that it will be huge upset if we win. This is not the case, and you will see come sept 1.

I will add that if we lose this game it will come down to our kicking game. This is our only real weakness.

Speaking of someone that doesn't know what your talking about. The cougs still have a ton of talent on offense that you will see plenty of on Sept 1.
Plus I think your over hyping your Tuitama! however you spell his name? I think your underestimating byu and over hyping Arizona. The cougars are going to surprise you. What are you and fellow wildcat friends going to do when you guys lose on Sept 1?
