What top shelf CBs do is take away 1/2 the field and whatever WR lines up on their side.

CBs don't defend RBs and they don't defend underneath passes -- and that's where Hall had his most success last weekend.

Back to your initial question, McGregor, I can only think of two reasons:

#1--If the Cougars don't play to their potential as a power-house-with-no-respect-chip-on-the-shoulder team (I doubt this reason).

#2--If the Cougs fight hard enough to win , but PAC-10 Stooge refs steal a close game from them (remember UA, '06; BYU must play for a margin too big for the home officials to possibly whittle down).

Errrmmm.. I hope you're not a UCLA fan Airwolf84. 110,000 fans? First off, the Rose Bowl only seats 90k or so. Secondly, it will not be a sell out (I'd expect 70-75k). I'm also not sure what scoreboard has to do with anything, given BYU and UCLA have not faced each other in over 10 years.

If the OL can protect Ben Olson, I think it will be a long day for BYU. If BYU's defense can get to BO, I think it may be a long day for UCLA. That's the battle I'll be watching.

Awesome post, I agree 100%. It will be up to BYU's defense to put pressure on Olsen. BYU didn't even try to put pressure on Tuitama last week. I am hoping that Bronco tries to get pressure on Olsen with more then just 4 guys because he is going to pick us apart if BYU does hurry him. Oh, and Airwolf, you just got punked by someone who shares your opinion on what the outcome is going to be on saturday. Your negativity isn't even palatable to a Bruins fan.

Both Wide recievers caught 4 balls last week, Cason did not get an interception. His lone play was the CB blitz where Hall fumbled. Cason was a non factor for the most part against BYU, in fact Collie had run past him on 1 play and Hall dropped the ball just out of his reach in the end zone. Would have been a touchdown for our "slow" reciever against the all american DB.

The Sagarin ratings, part of your beloved BCS hegemony, use a home field advantage of 2.93 when predicting game outcomes. I'd say that's closer to 3 than 7. Dispute all you want, but this guy has to make a living with that number, and has done so since 1985. There's a reason he's got it where it is.
