The UNLV game was the first away game, (other than Utah), that I had been able to attend. I got to the stadium an hour before the game and got situated. Five minutes before kick off, the "UNLV" fan whose seat is next to mine wanders in with adult beverage in tow, and proceeds with the "%#@# BYU fans, they make me sick". Gives me a hard time and then sits down. As he sits down, he takes off his UNLV hat and proceeds to peel off the stickers under the bill, the NCAA logo sticker, the price sticker, etc. I just laughed at this "UNLV" fans dedication.
Come to find out, through the course of the game, and several adult beverages later, he was from St. George, and there to mostly cheer against us, as he put it"!@$$#@ Mormon BYU people!" The lady next to him was almost as bad, telling the guy to spill his beer on me so that my Bishop would ask me why I smelled like beer.
At 24-6, he gets up, tells me congratulations in a very sarcastic tone for beating a "High School team", and leaves.
The UNLV fans who were behind us on the other hand, whom were also very inebriated, were in fact real fans, in as much as they new the names of the players and stayed till the end. The funniest part of the game was right before the touchdown, they were chanting for Stiechen to get in the game because he would get them to 23 points.
