well what do you expect them to do, give up???

Although it would be nice, I'm not that ignorant. I just think that it's rediculous that teams try to pad their stats. Putting in your subs is a classy move when your beating someone by a bit. It just seems a little silly to do everything you can to rack up stats on another teams subs. Risky too. Just look at what happened to their qb.
All in all though, I have to admit that their fans were pretty cordial.

When you play the game, you play to win the game, then you play to win the season, then you play to win next season. I am sure Bronco was happy that UNLV tried their best to score and did on the backups. By getting ahead, he won the game, by resting his starters he saved them from possible injury for the rest of the year, by UNLV playing to score, it gave the reserves quality game time experience which will help them become better players for the rest of the season if they are needed and when they become starters next year. You should thank UNLV for training next years starters. If you are playing for stats then leave your starters in which may not have been a bad idea if BYU is thinks Hawaii needs to exit the BCS poll for them to get in it. That's because UNLV is a common opponent and score differential does matter. Clearly, Bronco is not thinking that way.

The UNLV game was the first away game, (other than Utah), that I had been able to attend. I got to the stadium an hour before the game and got situated. Five minutes before kick off, the "UNLV" fan whose seat is next to mine wanders in with adult beverage in tow, and proceeds with the "%#@# BYU fans, they make me sick". Gives me a hard time and then sits down. As he sits down, he takes off his UNLV hat and proceeds to peel off the stickers under the bill, the NCAA logo sticker, the price sticker, etc. I just laughed at this "UNLV" fans dedication.

Come to find out, through the course of the game, and several adult beverages later, he was from St. George, and there to mostly cheer against us, as he put it"!@$$#@ Mormon BYU people!" The lady next to him was almost as bad, telling the guy to spill his beer on me so that my Bishop would ask me why I smelled like beer.

At 24-6, he gets up, tells me congratulations in a very sarcastic tone for beating a "High School team", and leaves.

The UNLV fans who were behind us on the other hand, whom were also very inebriated, were in fact real fans, in as much as they new the names of the players and stayed till the end. The funniest part of the game was right before the touchdown, they were chanting for Stiechen to get in the game because he would get them to 23 points.

Well right at the end of the first half and start of the 3rd quarter a guy started walking through the BYU section with a sign that said BYU SUX and then a picture of well male balls. Our fans started yelling at him and threw some stuff and he finally stopped.

Was that the yellow sign? We didn't know what the picture was, just that it said BYUSUX. This fellow next to me reported him and the UNLV lady had him removed from our section afterwards. Maybe that guy was just making the rounds.

Did anyone else find the "rebels" chant annoying towards the end of the game? I enjoyed the resounding "scoreboard" in response.

Gonna have to rely on something besides the spirit of revelation to understand that one!
