We may have led most of the game, but I was thinking we were "hanging in there" because I expected Lousiville at any moment to unlease a barrage of threes and leave us in the dust.
This may be the most fun BYU team to watch of all time. They pass like pros and they have more speed than any BYU team I remember.
I was offended by the lack of objectivity of the announcers all night. One great post script to it all though. In the paper this morning it describes an encounter between Roy Williams of North Carolina and Rick Patino. Roy as his team was coming on the floor saw Rick and went over to console him on the loss. Rick shook his hand and said "you better be careful because they are a very good team". There isn't much talk here about "what if's" with the injured players because they have plenty of talent at Louisville and they know you can't build a season on what if's. Louisville will win a lot of games and will continue to be a hugh win for us, but for now, BRING ON #1 NORTH CAROLINA!!!!!!!!
I watched last nights game and here are some of my thoughts. Trent Plaisted has really improved. He was not intimidated by Louisville's speed or size and played a good game. Tavernari has a SWEET shot and BYU needs to get him the ball A LOT. This team is going to win a lot of games and is going to spend a lot of time in the top 25 this year. Guys, don't be suprised if BYU "upsets" North carolina tonight. This team is good and beat a good team last night. I am not predicting victory, just saying that if BYU wins, it won't be a suprise to me. These southern teams look at the group of "white guys from Utah" and they automatically think that they will have a cake walk. I could see it in the eyes of the Louisville players as they walked on the court last night. Dave Rose has this team playing fast and crisp and they are going to be really good this year.

I was also suprised by the "hanging in there" comment when BYU was up by a couple of points in the second half. BYU was in control of that game from start to finish. The only run that Louisville made on them, BYU answered with a run of its own to put the game away. The difference between BYU winning this game last night and when they lost the UCLA game in football this year, is the team felt they were better then Louisville and were going to prove it on the court/(field). I didn't see that confidence in the football players this year when they went on the field against UCLA. Unfortunately for the football team, they were better then UCLA all along but didn't realize that until it was too late.
JT just exudes confidence, that guy is going to be something special for years to come, he also has much better ball handling skills than I realised before last night.
Though that three at the end of the game with 10 seconds still on the shot clock (I believe the game clock was around 1 minute) was horrid. I screamed at him and almost forgot how well he played. Fortunately it was forgotten because he was awesome.
