Okay, Etyotx, I'll try to help you out with this one although I suspect this topic will warrant its own separate thread in the near future. I agree with all of your selections for first team all-conference. I think Chad Hall will be offensive pIayar of the year simply because of Air Force's turn around from last year. With that, I also think Calhoun will get the Coach of the year award. You mention that Unga getting the Rookie/new comer of the year award as being the easiest decision. I'm not so sure about that. Remember that Max Hall is also a rookie/new comer and there could certainly be some argument that he has had as successful of a year as Unga. However, I do think Unga gets the newcomer award. Louie Sudoku definitely will get the special teams pIayar of the year. On the defensive side, I haven't followed other teams' defensive pIayars enough to know who I would pick. However, an argument could be made that either Kehl or Nixon could qualify for the award. BYU has the best defense in the conference and it's not too much of a strech to choose either Kehl or Nixon as the defensive pIayar of the year.

I think you may be confusing basketball awards with football awards. In football there is no "newcomer of the year"; it is simply "freshman of the year", thereby disqualifying Hall for the award. I think Unga will get it though. If he doesn't I have no idea who would.

Hall will definitely be on the first team all-MWC. There isn't another quarterback that has been better.

Realistically, most of the game looked like the first scrimmage of the year for both teams... sloppy play, dropped passes, stupid penalties, etc. To me, it was a testament to how bad the rest of the conference really is when your two best teams go out and play like that in a rivalry game. Utah actually lost their 3 best offensive players early in the year and BJ was clearly not at 100% and for them to have gone on that 7 game win streak was impressive. Both defenses are about equal in talent, but at full strength, Utah's offense is more potent than BYU's.

You kidding right? If Utahs offense is so potent, how is it that they only scored one FG and one TD. No way they are better than BYU. BJ is mediocre at best. Running QB my A$$. He did not impress me at all. Mack???...still no 100 yard single rusher, even with all his supposed moves. Give me Unga over Mack ALL DAY LONG! Hall may not be the greatest yet, but the kid proved he is everything BJ is not, and will be incredible over the next two years. Please stop with the foolish statements.
