Hate to pile on wolfie, but cant help it. BYU clearly came close to breaking several big plays on the Yewt D to blow the game open, yet the Yewts clearly were never close.
I give Kwhit wit for keeping the game close. They had one well called and executed drive at the end of the game that they finished off. So did we. We happened to have several other drives, more drives than the Yewts during the rest of the game.
You call our drive lucky if you want. But according to the Jedi, "in my experience there is no such thing as luck."
You can call it bad offense if you want, but the defenses were keyed up and good. Both defenses did what they needed to for much of the game.
Tell me how did any of Kwhit's trick plays do? Maybe their offensive lack of production was a result of bad preparation (coaching) and not the lack of players. Were the lost yards on the triple reverse due to some injury, or the fact that our man played assignment sound and stayed in position and KILLED the play? Where were the Yewt defenders when Unga rumbled for the touchdown, or that long run early on, or collie caught the pass on 4rth and 18. Call that assigment sound if you want, lucky if you want, but the Yewts simply weren't as good.
