Good point.

Also, keep an eye/ear out for Jadon Wagner in the offseason at the LB position.

I love these posts. I've read you all twice. Looking at this year's team I felt that the offense would be loaded for next year but the defense would be minus 3 top linebackers, cornerbacks and maybe a safety. After reading this thread it looks like those needs will be filled. If Bruner (wow, 6'3" 225 and 4.4!) has skill he could be the one to take Kehl's place. With that kind of speed I think it'd be possible to play him at safety. Pohahau is only 5'11" but there have been pro linebackers that short. Both of them look like they could go either way.

I think it very interesting that for years BYU's receivers were 5'9' 175lbs. and now we are getting kids 6 inches taller than that. I am intrigued by D. Murphy's son. His 40 time is only 4.7 but he must have game speed. With him, Pitta and George it will be a nightmare for 5'9" cornerbacks.

Brandon Brandley. He tore his Acl in fall camp of 06. Then this year we were ok at the cornerback position. He's playing on the special teams. He's been involved. His number was number 5! He'll get plenty of time at either cornerback or safety next year.

Wickchad84...

Brandon Bradley. He is a freshman (blew out his knee before last season and not 100% when this season started.) Apparently he is doing a great job covering Collie while on the scout team. Rumor is he will move to safety (has great size and great speed for a safety.)

BYU has some solid guys coming in to fill in gaps and some ready to step up.

As for linebackers, look for Doman, Nixon, Bauman and Hooks/Wagner to be the starters. Add on JC transfers like Tolu Moala and Coleby Clawson (led the #1 JC in sacks), BYU's defense is once again reloading, not rebuilding.

Not really. JJ DiLuigi might fill that in the near future. This years two recruits are both tall (Atem Bol is 6'2 and Jake Murphy is 6'5.) 2008 likely commits Brett Thompson and Mitch Mathews are both tall (6'3 and 6'5.)

Mike Hague played some H before his mission, so he could fit the spot. Spencer Hafoka, who just returned from his mission, is 6'0 and ran a 4.4. Jacobson is only 5'10, and he'll be back when Hall is a senior.

I'm counting on Hafoka. My brother coached him when he was younger and said he was unbelievable. He said he should turn out to be a special player in the Mahe or Sikahema mold.
I'm just plain stoked for next year. I'm hoping for the BCS this year and a return nearly every year thereafter. I'm hoping for BYU to become a mainstay in the BCS. I want to see them go so often that it forces the NCAA into a playoff system. Hey, we were the reason the BCS was formed, now we can be the reason the playoffs happen!
