We have some good games set and we had 4 in a row against Notre Dame but for some reason they got terminated and i dont know why.

The reason that BYU isn't playing Notre Dame is that Tom Holmoe didn't get it done, and it doesn't appear that Holmoe ever intended to schedule a 4 game series with Notre Dame.

There are others that can elaborate more on this. But Holmoe did a radio interview back in August (I think) where he said that there was no intention to schedule Notre Dame. I think this is a big mistake for the program.

Maybe I feel alone in this, but I see no benefit in playing Utah State every year. I'm an out of state fan now, but we would be better off playing a really good D1AA school, then a bottom dweller who should be in that league. I would love to see us cancel some of those games and schedule any other school even if we were traveling across the country to play somewhere tough.

Playing Army is a million times better for us than those games against Utah State

These future schedules emit a yawn from me. We need to schedule someone a little further east than the Rockies (excluding Army, of course). How about somewhere closer to the Mississippi? There are plenty of Big XII, Big 10 teams that aren't too good and aren't too far away from the Wasatch Mtn range.

Agreed 100%

And the plus to playing Notre Dame is.....guaranteed national television broadcast, which would help the program immensely now since we're locked into the MTN deal

Seriously, at least if we played Navy, we'd be playing a moderately decent team. I'd like to see BYU mix it up with some SEC teams. Auburn would be great, even ol miss would be cool.

As I stated in another thread this is a disappointing agreement. When Tom Holmoe announced that we were in negotiations with a "big-name program in the East who we had never played before," most of us were thinking/expecting an Alabama or Auburn type matchup.

Given the initial hype his negotiations generated, small wonder Holmoe didn't bother to put out a press release or anything about the contract.

Fans were expecting a lot more than they got with this arrangement.

We have played Alabama before, a one time deal in '98 (could have been '99)

Yep, and Shawn Alexander went for 5 TD's in Tuscaloosa in that game.
