Tonight's loss by Hawaii sets back weak scheduling teams and the WAC. I know Hawaii tried to schedule better teams to play and were forced to play a second FBS team, but that is still no reason to reward them with a BCS bowl.

BYU, and most of the other MWC teams, schedules good OOC teams with 2 Pac 10 teams this and next season. Further, the MWC is head and shoulders above the WAC. I think Bronco's got to come away from tonight's game with the understanding he can't schedule down and get respect. He's got to schedule good teams and beat them. It's that simple.


I saw that USC has games against Ohio State, Virginia, and Notre Dame next season. Along with their PAC 10 schedule, I can't think of a more difficult schedule for any team next season.

USC might just be the best team right now in college. We'll never find out because of the lack of a playoff. Shame on the NCAA and the BCS. Missouri deserved better too.

Some may have already mentioned this, but I think Hawaii's lack of a credible schedule (and I set aside the debate over whether Hawaii bares any responsibility in its pathetic schedule) should give Mendenhall, Holmoe, and everyone else out there that wants to schedule cup-cakes in order to game the system a reasons to pause and think about that strategy.

Maybe if BYU and the conference were dying for money, I'd be all for it. But BYU has the facilities and sufficent alumni support ($$) that would not necessitate such a pimping of one's program.

BYU ought to get a BCS birth the right way -- by playing a respectable schedule.

If BYU schedules a D-IAA team next season, I'll be pissed. You don't get credibility by kicking the crap out of weak programs.
