First off I will make no excuses for that good old "SOUTHERN WHOOPIN" that we got but a TRUE FAN will always fight for their team no matter what the circumstances are and which is why I fought for my Warriors prior to and after the game. We got beat in every aspect of the game from the begining kick off (which is when the FAT LADY began to sing) to the moment we walked out the superdome.

I've learned 4 things from this season,

1- Besides AIRWOLF84 I am and will always be hated on this site (which is why I will never leave)

2- This site reminds me of my mission. "I'M HATED FOR SHARING MY BELIEFS."

3- SPEED KILLS "Georgia had the speed and we got KILLED! :pinch:

4- I now know how you BYU fans felt when you got that good old "ISLAND WHOOPIN" in 2001 from Hawaii
72-45!

MAY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A SAFE, PROSPEROUS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This poster doesn't hate you either. I just don't like Hawaii. i knew they were an average team playing a below average schedule and when faced with an above average team it looked like a body bag game. Hawaii was out maned at every position. They rushed 3 to 4 down lineman most of the time and got into your back field easily. Just like I said Hawaii got by on blatant holding and the WAC refs let it happen. I said they wouldn't get away with that in this game and your Line would be exposed and they were. Same with your defense and lack of a running game. just like you I enjoy sharing my beliefs. just because we disagree doesn't mean I hate your beliefs it just meant I thought they were wrong, and they were.

Trust me that Hawaii game felt nothing like 2001. I worked with that team and the lose was no shock after the loss of Staley in the previous game and being told that there was no shot at a BCS bowl if they won out. Unlike Hawaii we knew we were vunerable espcially without Staley in the back field, we knew that before the game was played. Hawaii thought they had that game all the way up to the kickoff, but the look on JJ's face when his team was getting rolled was priceless. I guess spouting off and thumping your chest before the game is played is not a great idea.

I will be surprised if Hawaii doesn't finish ranked behind BYU. Which makes sense. BYU was and is the best non-BCS team in the nation this year.

There is a lesson to learn from Hawaii's butt-kicking last night. You have to play at least one solid team, preferably two away from home before your bowl game if you want to be mentally and otherwise prepared. But on the other hand, the WAC and Benson are walking away with a fat paycheck. Why would they change their scheduling strategy when it worked this year!! They got a team that doesn't belong in the top 20 into the Sugar Bowl and walked away with 15 million! When it comes to economics and money that is a pretty sound strategy to me!!

(To be honest, I think Hawaii is a top 15 team at home, and probably 20-35 anywhere else. What that balances out to.... I don't know. They will likely end up ranked just ahead of BYU.)

Don't be shocked to see pollsters being stingy in their rankings for non cartel teams next year. Also don't be surprised if they actually take a look at their SOS when considering their ranking postion.

If this game has done one thing it has brought out Hawaii's very weak SOS issue and made pollster more aware of SOS instead of win loss records at least for non cartel teams. Mandel even wrote a piece about this. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2008/writers/stewart_mandel/01/03/cfb.bag/1.html

"Sugar Bowl debacle will probably have the opposite affect on any potential BCS buster next season. Personally, I'm all for the inclusion of such teams in the major bowls if deemed worthy, but I don't think it's asking too much to see one win over a legitimate opponent before granting a blind benefit of the doubt just because a team went 12-0."

Basically expect voters to be more weary of schedules and who you play and how well you played them if they are a non cartel team. Let Hawaii and BSU play sorry OOC schedules it will likely hurt them now instead of helping them. Playing in the WAC vs the MWC is already a huge deficit for WAC teams since their in conference SOS is significantly lower then the MWC's. Hawaii and BSU will need to schedule up to prove they belong and scheduling up likely will throw them out each year.
