Maybe Hawaii got an object lesson that hair and attitude doesn't equal strength. While I was sad to see them not just lose but get completely worked, part of me was kinda smiling. Their intent to mug BYU players on every play still rankles me. So having their hair, attitude, et al handed to them so thoroughly seemed poetic to this old fart.

You must have blocked out the 2005 season where your beloved Rainbows lost the following games:

USC 63-17

MSU 42-14

La Tech 46-14

Fresno St. 27-13

Wisconsin 41-24

I think that first game alone would have humbled you enough, but there were 4 more the rest of the season. Oh, and that first game was on your home turf too. Way to represent.

I won't take time to remind you the last time BYU and Hawaii played, BYU won.

72-45 is simply not the same as 41-10 in football terms, and BYU's play in 2001 was not even in the same realm as Hawaii's poor showing last night. And UGA mercifully stopped trying to score after a few minutes into the second half when it was apparent that Hawaii had absolutely no chance.

Nonetheless, it takes a man to own up to the drubbing I saw last night. Props to you for that. Much better than the typical Ute, Wildcat and Bruin trolls we have seen on this board this year.

On the brighter side of things, it looks like Hawaii may have a decent QB next year in Tyler Graunke. He's got a good arm, and a quicker delivery than Colt. In fact, Graunke was the only one to score a TD last night, after which Brennan appeared to start crying on the sidelines.

Very impressive that you came back. That shows a lot of sack. It also shows you're a true fan through thick and thin.

I saw what I wanted to see last night. Not because I dislike Hawai'i, but because they didn't deserve to be in the BCS game after the schedule they played. I don't ever again want to see a BCS bowl game featuring a team that plays a total of 2 games against teams with a winning record AND then barely beats 4 teams with losing records. I hope this game reverses the WAC-inspired trend of scheduling down the OOC games when the majority of the IC games are already unchallenging to begin with. Non-BCS teams need to beef up their OOC schedules to make up for the weak IC schedule or they don't belong in or deserve a BCS bowl game. Cowardice in the scheduling should not be rewarded. Period.

I still maintain that had Luke Staley not broken his leg, BYU beats Hawaii in 2001. BYU still scored 45 points with a backup QB (remember Doman broke some ribs and didn't finish the game) and WR playing RB (Mahe) and we still "only" lost by 27 points. You can't convince me that Staley wasn't good for at least 28 points in that game nor that he would have prevented at least three or four of BYU's six lost fumbles.

First off I will make no excuses for that good old "SOUTHERN WHOOPIN" that we got but a TRUE FAN will always fight for their team no matter what the circumstances are and which is why I fought for my Warriors prior to and after the game. We got beat in every aspect of the game from the begining kick off (which is when the FAT LADY began to sing) to the moment we walked out the superdome.

I've learned 4 things from this season,

1- Besides AIRWOLF84 I am and will always be hated on this site (which is why I will never leave)

2- This site reminds me of my mission. "I'M HATED FOR SHARING MY BELIEFS."

3- SPEED KILLS "Georgia had the speed and we got KILLED! :pinch:

4- I now know how you BYU fans felt when you got that good old "ISLAND WHOOPIN" in 2001 from Hawaii
72-45!

MAY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A SAFE, PROSPEROUS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I think Hawaii may have had a better showing lat night had you guys had a better schedule. Had you gone and played a bigger team on a bigger stage on the road I think it would have been huge in terms of experience.

Hawaii looked like a deer in the headlights last night, they just didn't look mentally ready (especially colt brenen)

If Hawaii had gone out and played Texas at home (Iowa, UCLA, ASU, or any other number of teams) I think they would have been better prepared for last night. Maybe the jet lag got to them.

Oh and as to your previous comment, I have crowton years amnesia, so you can bring that up all you want to, but I've forgotten it . Hawaii will never beat BYU in the Bronco Mendenhall era.
