Our home schedule really sucks this year. I guess the money I save on season tickets can go towards my trip to the fiesta bowl.

This is not a sucky game by any means. UNI went 12-1, was in the top 70 in all of NCAA football in the Sagarin rankings, beat Iowa State on the road(who beat Colorado and Iowa - who both beat BCS bowl teams)

It is the perfect tune-up game for Washington and UCLA

If you can't get excited about winnable games that help us possibly go undefeated, then what do you want?

This is a decent schedule for a TUNE UP GAME - which is what Nevada would have been. Kudos to the administration for getting UNI to come to our place.

With the limitations of 1) needing a home game 2) having a full schedule next year (meaning can't offer a return game until at least 2009) and 3) lateness of the opening this is actually a pretty good get. Sure we all wanted LSU to come in next year, but that was highly unlikely.

People wanted us to give up a home game to play at Rutgers or Indiana, and get no return game. That is just plain dumb. I think we should start scheduling 7 home games a year. Only play 1 OOC conference game a year on the road.

so you want to weaken our schedule more than we already have. Texas Tech was available so was Miss St. and a bunch of good teams. My point we wont get any national respect or recognition until we start playing some good teams. I am happy about the 4 against Boise. We did have 4 against Notre Dame does anyone know what happenend with that

Splitbamboo has the answer to your perceived weakening of the SOS.

Sagarin ratings has No. Iowa at 62 and Nevada at 102 this year. So maybe our SOS will actually go up...

...seing as how this game is replacing the Nevada game.

As to ND it was something initially started when Hale was the AD then was never solidified with Holmoe so it dropped out of contract.

I agree. This team is as good as half of the non-BCS schools and 1/3 of the BCS schools. No shame in that. And since the computer polls are 1/3 of the BCS rankings, it will actually help BYU more than playing Utah St will this year.

First game of the year for both teams?!?!!! You can bet they will be coming in like App St. did into the big house wanting to show the home team they can compete and win. I expect BYU to win, but a 48-0 score it won't be.

You called it a tune-up game. I am not going to drive 4 hours and spend money on a tune-up game. I agree with you that it is a tune-up game and in my opinion it sucks.

It is not Holmoe's or Bronco's fault. I understand why it happened and under the circumstance it is a good find. That doesn't mean I am going to get excited about the game like I did last year against Arizona.

Northern Iowa is a scarry team! 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 2
If we're going to play a creampuff, I'd like them to actually be a creampuff. This is very much a lose, lose proposition for BYU.
