One silver lining to the UNLV game was that it was on the road. If BYU needs a win late in the conference season against UNLV, I'm glad that game will be in Provo and not LV.

I think 12-4 is very doable after beating the Utes on the road.

I don't see Plaisted and Tav staying in their slumps for long (we've got some home games coming up) and now that we've got a big win on the road I think that will give us some confidence when we go on the road again. I think 11-5, 12-4 is about right.

I don't see AF being as tough a game this year as in the previous years. If we lose that game it's because we shoot ourselves in the foot. Same with CSU and Wyoming.

The TCU game worries me. I don't think we win the SDSU game.

My concern is we never know which team is going to show up. Will it be the Louisville/UNC team or will it be the BSU/UNLV team? Unfortunately, the current trend suggests we will struggle at all our road games in which case we're NIT bound.

Rose has got to get these guys playing better. It's easy to blame players, but keep in mind it's Rose's job to get them game ready and fired up.

Nice to see you back Gunk I wondered if you had abandend(sp) our team in its darkest hour. As for 12-4, my bro gmoney and I afte the wake forest game hoped that is what we could accomplish and we were hoping for a split against unlv and utah and we got it. So providing we continue to win at home and lose to SDS,NM,and possiably either AF/TCU we should go 12-4 which would put us at 23-8 going into the tourney which would give us a first round match up with csu/wyo and make us 24-8 and then head into a big game against someone decent. From wathcing UNLV at their place I can easly see them winning the Tourney. If we get to the final game we are 25-8 and lose makes 25-9 if we lose the semi fianl 24-9 I think 24-9 really puts us on the BUBBLE why becuase we have no real road wins and won't have a GREAT RPI then, we also will only have a injured louville win to hang our hat on. We really need to get a road win at SDS OR NM. I think 25-9 puts in at a 10 most likely a 11 seed maybe even a 12 the way we get screwed but realistly I just want to get in now and don't care where. If we are a 12 we could be a scary 12 seed if we are hitting our shots.

Abandon...never. I was just stuck in Las Vegas at a conference in a small room with no contact to the outside world. Reminded me of the MTC, except for the Las Vegas part.

A 25-9 record really puts us on the bubble and as you point out all we have is a win over a depleted Louisville team to hang our hat on. With no solid road wins I don't think we make it to the NCAA tourney unless we finish better than 25-9. Basically that means we win at TCU, CSU, AF and Wyoming, win either the NM or SDSU game and win all our home games. If somehow we can pull that off we go into the MWC tournement 25-6. Say we lose in the finals, we walk away with a 27-7 record, which looks a lot better than 9 loses plus we would only have two conference losses which the selection committee likes.

Honestly, I am starting to think out best odds of going to the NCAA tournement is just win the MWC tournement. I think we have better odds of doing that. Our wrinkles ought to be ironed out by then (crosses fingers).
