Beating out UNLV for the conference tournament championship on their homecourt will not be easy.
How exactly is it fair that UNLV automatically gets home court advantage in the conference tournament EVERY YEAR!!
Well, Johnnie, you
did answer your own question: Dollar signs. Don't get me wrong, I HATE the way the tournament is set up (I hate it almost as much as realizing that Rick Majerus and I agree on ANYTHING, and that particular anything being the unwillingness to call a tournament loss to LV at the T&M a "neutral court" loss, but I digress...), however, the Mountain West Conference, in an uncharacteristic gesture of fairplay (however unintentional),
did move the tourney to a true neutral site in Denver. Unfortunately, the tournament was completely economically unviable anywhere besides Sin City, considering we're not a "big-name"/BCS affiliated conference, and have a pathetic excuse for a television contract. Oops for everybody I guess, the fans for not showing up (and ponying up), the Commissioner (because he's an IDIOT), and the city of Denver (for getting so blasted much snowfall during its host years that few fans were interested in roadtripping).
Despite the money issue, because there's no real money in our tournament anyway, I say HUCK the thing, and give the regular season champ the homecourt like they should. Who's with me?!
