I just heard PK, on Powerhouse, report that he spoke to Walton's dad, and the decision to kick Walton out should be overturned in the next day or two.
He also said that Holmoe and Law were both pretty angry over the whole situation.

Good News, I fear this is far from over on different fronts...

Great news if the report is true. It has gotta be hard for BYU to go up against a bishop's decision. If they do, it is pretty obvious to see that the only reason for his endorsement to not be renewed would be mediocre attendance in his home ward.

The reason this has been made into a big deal is because it got out in the public. If it would have all been handled behind closed doors, it would have probably been appealed in private and the whole situation could have been avoided. I think it is pretty safe to say that the kid is going to be looking for a new apartment (and ward) in the near future.

p.s. I wonder what the meeting was like in his ward this last week.

I'm not saying the bishop was wrong, or he was a loser, or making any other assumption.....

However, I can honestly say that I never had a BYU Bishop that I liked. I don't think its just me because I've loved every bishop in every other ward I've ever been in including my family ward here in Provo. But for some reason it has always seemed to me that BYU bishops like to make up their own stupid standards and act like they are your parents. I had one of the famous Ludlow dudes for a bishop once and I couldn't stand the guy.

That being said, I still went to church (-: But, some of these BYU bishops have their own crazy ideas about worthiness and would even try to get you kicked out of byu for something as stupid as french kissing. Anyway, had to just get that off my chest!

How long was it after the whole Kessman thing take for the real story to leak out. Thanks PK for vindicating my being upset.
