YES I AM YELLING ABOUT THIS ONE. THIS STORY OF THE BASEBALL PLAYER IS AN ABSOLUTE ABBORATION. WE NEED TO EMAIL TOM HOLMOE AND HAVE HIM STEP IN AND OVER RULE THIS RIDICULOUS DECISION. STUFF LIKE THIS IS GOING TO RUIN OUR RECRUITING OF BOTH NON LDS AND LDS PLAYERS. KEARL IS AN IDIOT, AND SO IS THAT BLASTED BISHOP WHO MADE THIS DECISION. EVEN IF HE WAS SITTING AT HOME WATCHING FOOTBALL ISTEAD OF GOING TO CHURCH. I WONDER IF PRESIDENT HINCKLEY WOULD BACK UP THIS RIDICULOUS OUTCOME.
You know, as I read this story, the thought that kept coming to me was, "We don't know all the facts." From what I read, Pres. Samuelson knows about it, obviously, and didn't do anything to stop it. WOuldn't you think that the University President, who DOES know all of the facts and has heard both sides, would correct it if it truly was an injustice? Just my $.02.
And, for the record, if it really is as simple as the bishop didn't think he went to church enough and so pulled his ecclesiastical endoresement, and there is NOTHING else to the story, then I agree that it's wrong. I'm just not sure that's all there is to the story.
