2009 Recruiting Class 5 Months ago Karma: 8
2008 was great, probably better than 2007.
Here's to a great 2009. We already have 2 4 star commits, and have 2 other 4-5 star guys that we have a legitimate chance at (Te'o and Martinez). Unfortunately/Fortunately USC has already offered both of the other guys. Here is to a BCS bowl game and the best class in the history of BYU in 2009.
The LDS/Utah talent next year is supposed to be one of the best ever, so why not a Top5 season finish and a Top15 recruiting finish!

I am excited except for the fact the devil (Pete Carroll) is in the mix for a few of those recruits. I used to admire Carroll but now, I hope he takes a long walk of a short cliff. As you can tell, I am a little bitter over recruits he has stolen over the years.

Bronco said this yesterday at the Cougar Room at the stadium.

"We don't care how many stars they have," he said. "When they come to BYU, they have no stars. What counts is how many stars they leave here with. It's how many stars we can put on them before they leave."

Then he playfully chastised the group for their constant internet chats and discussions.

"The stars don't mean anything, so find something else you can do with your time, please," he said.

What backs this up is that he goes after these young men before they get any stars from Scout or Rivals.

I dont think we will ever get a top 15 recruiting finish because we wont ever have 4 5star guys and 9 4star guys. Just like Bronco said he recruits on what he sees as talent whether the rankings have them as a 2 or a 5 and when they leave the program thats when it matters how many stars they have. I really just dont see us getting all the talent that is looked at as 5 stars unless they are LDS which is only a few kids here and there.
