I agree--where Carroll is concerned, I'll have to see it to believe it. That being said, there aren't that many athletes where we compete directly head-to-head with USC for them, so I don't think this will affect our recruiting too badly. And if Carroll is proved a liar, then that could actually be good for BYU in the long run, because people won't believe him the next time he offers to hold a scholarship during a mission.

I was beginning to think I was on a UCLA board!

Actually, we would need to do some research on this matter. On last minute decisions, BYU is 0-3 in the last 3 years: Havili in 06, Tupou in 07, and Kaveinga this year. There was a huge OL from Snow about 4 years ago who selected USC over BYU as well. Further, the brother of Matt Leinart's ex-girlfriend was on the BYU basketball team and then left BYU for a spot on the USC football team. USC is a thorn in BYU's side when it comes to recruiting top LDS talent on the west coast, but they are a thorn in a lot of teams' side in recruiting.

BYU wins sometimes too.

Jesse Taufi was being told by USC coaches to not commit while they got him a scholarship offer. He will be here in in the Fall.

Murphy, Sorensen and others were solid commits before USC worked on them too hard. They DID receive attention and pitches, but stuck with BYU. We only seem to notice the ones we lose.

However, apparently Afutiti received a scholarship offer from USC so this year we were really 1-1.
