I sort of liked how they worked the guard rotation on saturday a lot. With Murdock, Lloyd, and Ferdette all getting time at the point. It allows Jimmer to get more PT, and it rests the people playing point more. It also provides some matchup problems as teams have to adjust to different guard lineups, all of which bring something different to the table.
I also like Jimmer off the bench. Some times it's advantageous not to start your "best" 5 per say. And besides, it doesn't matter who starts the game, it matters who finishes it.
Plus, look how long it has taken JT to be "molded" into a starting role and have the same impact he had last year off the bench.
Keep in mind JT is only a sophomore. What's with the "look how long?" He's only half way through his 2nd season of college ball. Most players don't even get to come off the bench till their sophomore seasons. Sure there have been some growing pains, but if you think about it JT has done very well facing a steap learning curve. I love the way he plays. He need some passion out on the court.
To explain myself to gunk -- Last year, JT was a great spark off the bench when he could come in, give us lots of energy, and hit some threes. Now this year, he has had to learn to play a more complete game and only until recently has he been able to do that (assists, rebounding, defense). I am glad he is a starter as he brings a lot to the court each night. However, I was only stating that it took a while for him to learn to be more than just the spark off the bench he was last year -- to make the point that if Jimmer was inserted into the starting lineup at this point in the season, it would take a while for him to be at the level we know he will eventually be at.

Understood. My apologies for the misinterpretation. I agree in that it's been an adjustment for him adapting to a starting role. He's a passionate individual (as are most Brazilians) so he carried a lot on him. It's good to see him out of his funk. I just hate hearing the stories of people yelling at JT at home games to not shoot the ball, etc. He's a 20 year old guy playing ball because he loves to do it. He doesn't get paid to do it (unless you count a scholarship) and I think booing or chanting criticisms at your players is in poor taste, especially college players. Reserve those feelings for private conversations and fan websites.
As far as putting Jimmer in the starting lineup. I'm all for playing whoever is best. If Jimmer is doing better than Burgess then start Jimmer and vice versus.
