I love BYU basketball. I have season tickets at the Air Force Academy so I get great tickets when BYU comes into town. I do not pretend to know more than Coach Rose. I believe if Jimmer was going to get him 1 more win he would start. I believe if Jimmer would extend the lead in games we would win anyway coach would start him. The fact that he doesn't start is because the best coach in the history of BYU has decided that he doesn't deserve it. End of story as far as I am concerned. Go Cougs

I am not sure where the haters are coming from. I think that Murdock is the perfect point guard for this team. His assist to TO ratio is amongst the best in the league. He plays heads up defense and is fine letting the big 3 take the glory while he sets up the plays. Jimmer is a great ball player, but he is a 2 guard and not a point. You do not want your point, especially at BYU, to be a shoot first type of player. Jimmer will probably never play point as a starter at BYU and next year I would imagine he will start at the 2 guard with Lamont Morgan playing the point, Cummard at 3, JT at 4, and Plaisted if we get him back at 5.

I agree with Hengst; I really liked the rotation on Saturday. It doesn't really matter if Jimmer starts if he plays 20+ minutes like he did against UNLV.

Agreed. Bringing Jimmer off the bench can provide a spark - much like JT did last year. Plus, look how long it has taken JT to be "molded" into a starting role and have the same impact he had last year off the bench. I think starting Jimmer at this point in the season would not be a smart move. The team is playing great together right now and changing the starting lineup and/or the rotation off the bench could hurt the effectiveness of the team. However, I am all for Jimmer getting twenty plus minutes a game - much like Saturday vs UNLV.

Also, our defense has been winning a lot of games lately - which a lot of that defensive effort has come from Murdock and Burgess shutting down the opponent's top scorers.

Assist to turnover ratio would be my biggest concern. Murdock has 100 assists to only 37 TO's while Jimmer has 40 assists to 29 TO's. Fredette is a better scorer but he doesn't take care of the ball as well as Murdock. The difference between Burgess's shooting and Fredette's shooting as far as percentages go is almost the exact same difference as Fredette's shooting and Murdock's shooting.

I think some of you are exagerating other team's gameplan for Murdock. You make it sound like no one guards him. That's a bunch of balogna. When you're the point guard, you always have someone in your face. When Murdock does shoot it, it's the times when he is wide open, which isn't that often if you look at how many times he's shot the ball.

I love Jimmer right now as the back up SG/PG where he can get some good minutes and bring some needed energy off the bench. If it isn't broken, then don't fix it!
