The committee would never put BYU as high as a 4. All we can hope for is an 8.

As much as I would love a 4th seed, I doubt we'll get one. If, we win out and take the conference tourney we'll likely end up with a 7th maybe 6th seed at best. The committee simply looks for reasons not to seed high instead of reasons to seed us high. They'll find some reason to justify seeding us lower than we deserve. Until we actually start winning an NCAA tourney game or two we won't get much love from the committee.

I'll take a split over SDSU and NM, but would prefer Ws at both and think we can do so. Just one game at a time.

Actually, Coach Rose has never lost to New Mexico (we beat them at the Pit the last two years), and he's never won at Cox Arena, but I'm more confident about the SDSU game this year than the New Mexico game. I really believe we can win both, but I'll begrudgingly accept a split.

Well, there certainly are reasons to be concerned:
Well, we only managed a three point victory over SDSU in the Marriott Center, and, as has been pointed out, we don't exactly have a stellar streak going at Cox Arena.
Well, we thoroughly embarrassed New Mexico on our floor. Remember what happened the last time a good MWC team had a bad game away and got waxed, then was given a shot at retribution on their home court?

That said, I'm cautiously optimistic about the road swing. We may just have it together.

Also, keep in mind if MWC gets three bids, NM would be on the "bubble." Beating us would help their case a lot. They'll be gunning for us.

If we win out and win the MWC tourney I think we could get a 4 seed but that is a pretty big IF. Last year we got an 8 seed without winning the tourney, a couple more losses, we lost to two (not one) crappy teams, and we have played better teams this year and done well against them.

With one more loss in tournament play and losing to UNLV in the tourney which I think is the most likely scenario I think we should be around a 7 seed.
