I'm a little hesitant to call it a done deal. Seems strange that only SDSU has heard it (Locke says his sources at DirecTV confirmed it though.)

I can't help but think that Kevin Hart just chose Cal again.

I don't know why only the SDSU AD announced it, but it looks like the real deal. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the reps didn't have a clue about it. I don't want to get burned, but it was an AD. Still I really want to read it someplace else.

All that BYU and Utah have said is that they will wait for everything to be signed to make statements. They have not said that the rumors are false or that there is no deal being signed today.

My take, in the absence of denials from persons in the know, is that the SDSU AD jumped the gun in talking about a deal that is in the process of being finalized (you'd think he would have learned from the Mavs/Nets fiasco), and that BYU and Utah will confirm upon official notice that the deal is finalized.

As for a rep denying the deal, the reps would likely be the last to know about a deal getting done. Most fans will know before the Pakistani phone banks find out.

Someone on another board said the rep they talked to just now said it was "forthcoming and would be available for the 2008 season."
