I don't remember any other conference fans feelong bad for the cougars when we had a one win season in basketball or three straight losing se3asons in football.
In short, I don't feel bad at all for CSU. In fact, I agree that if it were U of U I'd feel downright jubulant.
I feel bad for them, but not because of any connection to the school. I lived in Boulder, CO for a few years and really like Boulder, Ft. Collins, and the whole front range.
Also, college athletes dedicate a big portion of their time to athletics and it would just plain suck to never win. I'd feel bad for anyone in this situation, even a Ute, almost.

You know what? I was beginning to feel bad for them until you brought that up, and also the serious trash I took as a Cougar fan working in Ute nation (a TV station in Salt Lake). So I don't feel bad at all for them, things will turn around... thats the nature of College sports... unless your Baylor, and are required to be a doormat for your conference.
Only reason I feel bad for them is because they have come close so many times (they've lost a lot in the last 2 min of the game). They had a 15 pt lead over AF and AF still came back and beat them. That's gotta suck.
Course, no one ever feels bad for us, but I really don't want to be like Ute, Wyoming, etc. fans so I hope CSU wins at least one game. They win all their games except for the ones against us for all I care. Would be awesome if they actually got it together for the MWC tournement won a few games and we met up with them in championship round. Unlikely, but it would be cool.
