I didn't think it would be possible, but I don't think I've ever seen a worst first year coach with absolutely no common sense.
He's now insisting on an apology from Wyoming for the alleyoop dunk that closed out the game on Saturday.

Utah hoops coach says Wyoming's Schroyer owes team apology over dunk

Posted: 1:17 PM- Utah coach Jim Boylen doesn't believe Wyoming counterpart Heath Schroyer's claims of innocent intent concerning a controversial dunk that capped the Cowboys' 72-64 victory over the Utes in Laramie this weekend.
The dunk -- with the game long decided -- came off an alley-oop pass at the final horn, was taken as an insult by Utes fans -- and, apparently, Boylen.
"When I asked Heath about it, he said, 'I was telling them to pull the ball out,'" Boylen said at his weekly press conference Monday. "Well, he wasn't telling them to pull the ball out. We got it on film that he wasn't telling them to pull the ball out."
The play infuriated Boylen, who confronted Schroyer in an angry and profane shouting match after the game. In a press conference later, Schroyer repeated his assertion that the Cowboys wanted to let the clock run out, and described the play as "instinctive."
"Well, we don't have those kind of instincts around here," Boylen said. "So, we'll see them again -- that's what's great about league play. But, you know, we're going to run our program with class and we're going to do it right."
Boylen acknowledged that "mistakes will happen," but said he felt that his team "deserved an apology from him on that, and there was no remorse there and there was no respect for the game, and we don't believe in that here." ...

Boylen is a tool, has the emotional maturity of a three year old and diarrhea of the mouth. That being said, I think he does have a point and is not out of line for wanting Wyoming to at least make a statement about a showboat alley oop dunk at the buzzer with the game in hand.

Didn't the same thing happen when we lost at San Diego State? I seem to remember one of thier players running a fast break and slamming the ball home right before the clock expired? It was pretty classless but I am glad that Coach Rose has the common sense to not dwell on stuff like that and rather to get his team to focus on winning the next game! Nothing else should matter. Boylen is a tool.

I take it you didn't see the play. Utah was playing aggressive defense up until the end of the game. The pass was instinctive and nothing was planned. The guard was trapped and threw the ball to the closest player. Had Utah backed off so the guard could just dribble around, the play never would have happened. Boylen got what he deserved and is as sackless as his football counterpoint at the SNOT.

Getting dunked on at the end of a game would kind of suck, but if I were Boylen, I would be more concerned that my team got beat pretty bad against the second to last place team in the conference.
