http://blogs.sltrib.com/byu/2008/03/mwc-tournament-location-discussed.htm

"I am just a big proponent (of the tournament being on a neutral floor), especially when the NCAA says the automatic qualifier comes from the league tournament... In that being the future, than the league tournament needs to be at a neutral site so it's fair for everybody. In my opinion, there is not a lot of fairness right now for the other eight schools." ~New Mexico head coach Steve Alford

"I would like to move maybe more towards the way some of what we could call the power conferences do theirs if that would be possible." ~BYU head coach Dave Rose

"I am not going to be negative about it. Is it an ideal situation for everybody? Maybe not. Is it ideal for the league and where it's at right now? I think it is." ~Utah head coach Jim Boylen

"I would like to have it at Cox Arena if we could... That would be better for me." ~SDSU head coach Steve Fisher

I really enjoyed how the WAC did the tourney when i was a kid. It would rotate around to each school. That way, no one team was favored every year. However, Las Vegas is a big draw for all schools. It just didn't work in Denver, and it is hard to see it working anywhere else. I agree, a nuetral floor would be awesome, but I just don't see where it will work any where else?

I think the Delta Center would be a good fit, but that is coming from someone who lives 45 minutes away, so I am inherently biased. At least the home-crowd advantage would be split between the Y and the U.

Plus there is an Air Force Base not too far north of SLC, and SLC is pretty close to the middle of the conference going east and west. The reason they don't have it in Utah, it would favor BYU too much.

I thought about the Delta Center, but it isn't the draw that Vegas is. It isn't really sunny or nice and there isn't gambling...for those non-BYU fans. I would love to see it at the Delta...I mean Energy Solutions Arena...but, I could see it in L.A. or San Diego before Salt Lake City.

I don't think it would be fair if you have it on anyone's home floor. It's got to be someplace everyone can travel to fairly easly. My guess someplace like LA would be a good compromise.
