If you don't know when to kiss the girl, you probably know way too much about sports or are in mourning at the passing of Gary Gyggax (sp?). ;)

Not all timeouts are a result of a coach calling one. There are TV timeouts, referees will call timeouts to review something, even timeouts for electrical issues with scoreboards or second clocks.

Notice next time you hear the PA that at each time out they assign it to something. ie: BYU timeout, TCU timeout, Floor time out refers to the scheduled time outs for TV, and Official's timeout, which could be to review a rule, or have a player removed for blood, or for other officiating purposes.
