Las Vegas Bowl: gets #2 and Pac10 #4 6 Months ago Karma: 50
With BYU BcS bound for 2008, LV may have to look to and respect the MWC next choice: yewts or tcu? The date for the las vegas bowl has been set
Dec 20 5pm ESPN-MWC #1 vs. Pac-10 #4(sucks)

I suppose if we have one or two losses we'll be back for a 4th consecutive sell-out, largest crowd, most tv ratings of non-bcs season, etc..etc...
But hold out and take the opportunity-buy BcS because #2 is going to LV Bowl this year

I noticed the wording this time when I read it:

#1 pick in MWC and #4 of the Pac 10. They can pick anyone on the MWC, but are auto-assigned the 4th ranked in the Pac 10.

Sorry bro, but you're smoking CRACK if you think New Mexico finishes 2nd in the MWC next season.

They're way behind BYU, Utah, and TCU (who beat them 37-0 last season), all of who should be stronger next season. Meanwhile, the Lobos lose their 1000+ yard RB and top 2 WRs, among a slew of defensivemen. They should be right there with Air Force (who also loses a lot, including QB Carney and RB Hall) and Wyoming (who may be improved), but likely still ahead of CSU (new head coach makes it hard to say, though the returning talent is there), SDSU (who should be a little better, minus the QB loss), and UNLV (who should be improved with returning offensive talent).

In fact, with games against Texas A&M, Arizona, and on the road at Tulsa, New Mexico may have a tough time getting 6 wins next season...

mars, notice the question mark next to new mexico, it was a way of suggesting that its a toss-i would argue a team however that has won a bowl game for the first time since 1964 has a momentum swing, however AF, yewts i guess could be next in line, true

And I'm saying that there's no question about it, neither New Mexico nor Air Force will have even a remote shot at playing in the Las Vegas Bowl this coming season, even if the MWC champ were to bust the BCS again...

I just wish this was the year that the LV bowl pitted the #5 pac-10 team against the MWC #1 pick. With BYU bound for the BCS, it would really help to continue the positive momentum for the conference to have our #2 beat the pac-ers. If it being a #5 helps us do that, I'm alright with it. Although if the pukes make it to that game I think they could potentially do it even against the #4. They always seem to get up for their bowl game and it could potentially be a rematch of the OSU game.
