I don't know if Charlie Hough is LDS, but he didn't make the unofficial all-Mormon baseball team.

Great find MR. I didn't know upper deck Eck was LDS. (Was/is) Nor did I know about Jeff Kent either.

I knew about Killebrew and the Laws, but that did turn into an impressive team.

The best lines of the articles however were:

They're just a couple of converts away from fixing their middle relief problem.

The All Mormon Team is definitely a playoff contender. And they'd definitely beat the Canadians.

Kyle Farnsworth was in my ward growing up. Although a little cocky, he was a relatively nice guy. His family was not agreeable, however. His parents once threatened to leave the church unless the YM leader/bishop allowed him to play on the ward basketball team even though he also played varsity basketball on the high school team. My understanding is that he is not active anymore.

I met Harmon Killebrew in 2002 and he mentioned that he doesn't attend church anymore but a couple of his kids/grandkids have attended BYU.

While I dare say I have been a Dodger fan longer than most on this site have been drawing breath ....ok ok ok a long time.... I have never heard that Charlie Hough was LDS. We had Dodger tickets for over 20 years and watched him play for a good while. Not to brag..(ok maybe a little) but we were there the night Kurt Gibson hit his walkoff HR in WS. Very cool. Anyway, I don't think he was LDS but am not sure.

PS I do have a LP (that is vinyl you discheads) replay of the Dodgers 1959 World Series against thte Chicago White Sox. Have lost some of the Dodger Blue blood since I moved to Utah 10 years ago.

I did have dinner one time with Dane Iorg when he played for the Cardinals. It followed their game with the Dodgers many years ago. We had a common friend who had played with Dane at BYU; Rich Zinnegar. Dane said Rich was a better hitter than he was but was a pitcher and blew his arm out in the minors. Sorry for rambling!!

GO COUGs!!!!!

Me thinks you're trying to tell us you're an oldie. I'm probably on average older than most here but you're making me feel "oh so young". Thanks.
