Prognostication:

Paul will not play for BYU this season or next.

He is border-line academically (on the wrong side) and will likely go to a JC. He may transfer after a season or two, but won't be here this year in all likelihood unless he hits a home-run on the ACT/SAT.

Since you seem to know about Kedron Paul's academics, what do you know about Chambers academics?

He needs to do better on SAT. His core grades are good enough to qualify. Just a matter of doing better on testing. We probably won't know for a little bit if he makes it.

Mahuika is useless. Collie on Kickoffs and Di Luigi on Punts.

I agree when it comes to Collie, but we haven't even seen Di luigi yet. I know that there has been a lot of hype with him, but it would be kind of presumptuous to think that he is better than Mahuika already.

I'm not a big Bryce fan even though three years ago he was hyped by a lot of the players I know. Somthing you need to remember about Bryce is that much like Fui last year he hasn't been at 100% due to many injuries YET. We may still be mildly suprised. BTW a ten yard return is about the average in college football to average 15 is considered GREAT!

10 would be great. BYU last year averaged 6.01 (good for 102 in the country, with 40 teams over 10 yards per return.) Bryce averaged 6.81 last season.

A Home-Run? I am fairly certain that a 17 on the ACT is enough to qualify.

There is a good chance that Paul plays at Snow for a year or two if he doesn't qualify but I think he still has a chance. If the group from Harmony all qualify academically, I'll be surprised, if none of them qualify, I'll be even more surprised. It is great to see BYU return to national prominence and a group of 4 solid players from Florida (some of which turned down BCS offers) doing everything they can to wear blue is just awesome.

Also, The first post on the thread asks about Mahuika as if he is just returning from a mission to play this year. Is there a younger Mahuika we are mistaking for Bryce?

ACT/SAT are funny things when it comes to qualifying. The hire the core GPA is, the lower test score you need to qualify. If his core GPA isn't high enough, he may have to go the JC route. That's not a bad thing. Instead of being buried in the depth chart, he will be on the field against other great players who didn't qualify.

First post was 3 years old, some people like to bring back realllly old posts. Its the same Mahuika that will be a senior next year.
