There is no room for doubt in these guys' head. I was dissappointed to hear Burgess complaining about the seed. If one of our team "leaders" is expressing such thoughts publicly what's the rest of the team whinning about in the locker room.

BYU, you want respect, man up and win a tournament game. You want fans in the stands, win a tournament game. Quite getting all our hopes up for something great and then whine about seeding and loose. If you can't beat A&M you don't deserve a better seeding.

I think the selection committee would be doing us a favor by giving us a 16 seed. That will either put us right where we belong or we'll go out with a chip on our shoulder (and hopefully some anger) and play like we deserved better. That may be the best way to get this team to show up when it really matters.

My thoughts from watching UNLV and BYU play today.....

1. Lon Kruger is a hell of a coach and the best coach in our league but Rose is not that far behind.
2. It is always amazing to be reminded of how important fundamentals are in big games. Rebounding the ball on defense would have changed the outcome of the game.
3. It was refreshing to watch a game where the referee's did not have a large impact on the game.
4. I hate to criticize players and I think this is the first post in which I ever had, but Tavernari's half court 3 pointer was more selfish than stupid. He put himself ahead of the team and wanted the glory of hitting a huge shot on the big stage. I like his confidence and desire but if he doesn't mature he could become a cancer to the team. I don't think his shot lost us the game, but in my own illogical estimates, our odds of winning the game was at about 30-35 % at the time of his shot and 5% after he missed and we failed to rebound.

Good year Cougs...You were fun to watch this season. I hope the team works their butts off during this off-season and soo that they can get over this 1st round hump next time!!!!!

I don't think BYU played a bad game tonight. This is one of the better defenses we have played against and Lee, Trent, and Tavernari were all right around their averages for points. Unfortunately they all just had their average game and we needed someone to step it up. Fredette helped but unfortunately neither Murdock or Burgess were really even there.

For A & M to win they needed a big game from streaky Carter and they really got it. He was shooting great from 3 whether he was wide open or had someone in his face. I think A & M deserved the win but only because of Carter being so on tonight. I think most times we would beat them, unfortunately one of those times wasn't tonight.

Congrats to the Cougars for another good season. We always want it to be better but it is still hard to not be proud of the season we had.

We could have used a few more points from Trent, but you are right. The bg 3 did an average job. Once again...poor guards sunk us (Jimmer not included). Burgess was pretty quiet through MWC tournament and Murdock was liability.
