When in doubt, always check what Vegas thinks; they can't afford to be wrong.
One exception this year... they're losing money on (the REAL) Tiger, that's for sure! They've dropped odds to UNDER 2:1 on Woods in most betting houses (something that in golf is UNTHINKABLE), and for the fifth tournament in a row, they're STILL losing money.
Even if you're not a golf fan, TUNE IN the next few weeks. Someday you'll have a grandchild who's an aspiring young golfer, because they'll ask you what you remember about the greatest performance in the history of the sport, and they'll be referring to THIS season. Dude is unhuman. Absolute MACHINE!!!

P.S. Sorry to take the conversation further off topic, but since we'd tangented anyway, I thought I'd make use of an opportune segue...

I think the reason that they will win in the tournament next year, is that the guard play will be upgraded. Morgan/Emery/Fredette (Soph) will be better than Burgess/Murdock/Fredette (Freshman).

The starting front-court next year should be Cummard/Plaisted/Miles. JT should come off the bench as a 3 or a 4. With those four rotating in the front court and the other three rotating in the backcourt, this team will be better next year.

A lot will depend on whether BYU is able to score in the paint. Ferdette's ability to score inside will be huge next year, but they really need someone who can play power forward. If they keep playing live and die by the 3 ball they won't win again next year.

I'm just wondering why you are expecting Fredette to score inside when BYU has capable bigs? Isn't making close range, high percentage shots their job on offense? Sure the guards can drive all they want (and I think BYU did NOT do that enough) but you've got to have the bigs there ready to score after their defender peels off to play some help D.

If you're just saying our guards need to drive to the hole it's one thing, but our bigs need to learn how to get position in order to get the ball and be ready to take those high percentage shots. I didn't see that enough.

After reading your post again Hengst I am wondering if you meant someone else when you mention "Ferdette". I agree with everything else

Who does BYU have that will be an inside threat next year besides TP? I can't think of any bruisers? Maybe someone else knows of people coming in as frosh or home from missions.
