I'm a die hard Angels fan but Detroit has the sickest roster that I've seen in a long time.

I disagree there, bro. Gotta go with Jared on this one. The TIGERS have the sickest lineup????!! Try the deadliest 1-2 punch in baseball with big papi and Manny. Add the World Series MVP to that in Mike Lowell and THERE you have the best lineup my friend. Plus, their pitching is better than Detroit's. But I am excited about the baseball season, not just for the sport, but it means warm weather, and I'm READY for it. May the BYU football team be flawless in '08. But when the tigers play the yankees, I do cheer for detroit. That is true, though.

Man, this is a tough crowd. I can't believe somebody dinged my karma for my comment on this thread.

Yea, people sometimes ding karma for the dumbest of reasons...I gave you some love though.

I think with the ability to give or take away karma should come some responsibility and accountability. I think, each person should have a karma history that you can click on to see who has added and who has taken away and for what posts, etc. That way at least, people wouldn't be able to hide behind their actions.

Go Cougs!

I thought the original comment was pretty good and I'm optimistic for some dang reason based on what you provided. I'll try to ground myself before we play again. Anyways, I thought it was funny too that when you made the comment above, your karma was showing as 11. You've jumped 2 spots on charity alone. I hope your faith is restored.

That's why they are picked to finish second in the central behind the indians. It's nice to have a killer lineup but we (the indians) couldn't win the world series with one of the strongest to ever be faced. It takes a strong rotation. Rogers will probably spend more days on the DL than pitches he will throw. The rest are around .500 and the bullpen is still in taters.

I wish it weren't so but you'll find more so called experts picking Detroit over anyone else. When in doubt, always check what Vegas thinks; they can't afford to be wrong.

A lineup of Granderson, Inge, Pudge Rodriguez, Ordonez, Cabrera, Sheffield, Jones, Polanco, Renteria, Guillen is insane
There's not a guy on that list incapable of batting .310 w/ 70+ rbis.
and then throw in guys with Cy Young caliber stuff like Verlander, Bonderman, (even Dontrelle Willis when he's on-he does have a cy young) and then Kenny Rogers, you're talking about a heck of a lineup but then throw a healthy Joel Zumaya and the rest of the the young bullpen (excluding the age of Todd Jones) out there and you've got a nice road to the alcs due to the relative weakness of the al central.

Cleveland has a lot of good players, but aside from Sabathia and Carmona, the drop-off is deep. And other than an underachieving Sizemore, an overachieving Hafner and the steady Vic Martinez, the Indians lineup is pretty weak.

And if you don't think that Ortiz, Lowell, and Manny (and Tim Wakefield/Curt Schilling) have already played their best baseball then you're just not watching. All three are very good (the Angels and Yankees will compete too), but the Tigers are just plain scary from top to bottom.
