All the bulletin board material you need is to remember how Ty Willingham voted for us in the coaches poll last year. He was one of three coaches that had us out of the top 25. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/graphics/coaches_fb_poll_2007/flash.htm

Ugh...I hate that kind of crap. How HOW do you NOT put BYU in the top 25??? I mean, ok, so you hate us for beating you in 2004 and helping you lose your job. But, don't you want to conceal your bias and at least keep us in but lower than we deserve? That is how the other haters keep us down.

Willingham is a loser. He should have stayed at stanford back in the day. Les Miles and one other coach i hadn't heard of make me mad for not puttin us in the top 25 either. And one more question...Why is Joe Glenn a voter for the coaches poll and not Bronco Mendenhall. Joe Glenn hasn't won anything and chances of him coaching at Wyoming for much longer are very slim so why does he deserve a vote...honestly. college football sucks because of the ol' boys club running the show.

Don't they change the coaches every few years? Or am I thinking of the media poll?

They want to argue that one season and strength of schedule..but that article had a comment quoting the records for both teams' opponents:

BYU's opponents 1984 = 61-85-3
Washington's " 1984 = 65-70-1

Well, polls are HUMAN polls and alot of factors go into their reasoning and I think merits to the program on previous season and what BYU was due thanks to the 5 years previous gave them the nod for that year.

Especially since it was a first-time opportunity.

Five year record preceding and including 1984:

Washington
1984 11 1
1983 8 4
1982 10 2
1981 10 2
1980 9 3
1979 9-3
TOTAL 57-15

BYU
1984 13 0
1983 11 1
1982 8 4
1981 11 2
1980 12 1
1979 11 1
TOTAL 66-9

I think the 9 losses in 5 seasons and respect for LaVell 'suaded the human poll.

P.S. One huskie fan said it right when he said, and I quote, "Playoff, playoff, playoff, playoff, playoff!"

That's the only real way.

Maybe it's my eye glasses but it sure looks to me like that was 9 losses in 6 seasons.

It also is worth mentioning that at the end of 1984 BYU was on a 24 game win streak (last loss was the first game of the 1983 season to Baylor 36-40).

The Huskies could have played BYU in the Holiday Bowl but ducked the opportunity so that they could play Oklahoma for a bigger cash pay-out.

The only had themselves to blame. Their greed prevented kept them from having the opportunity to play for the NC. Too bad, so sad...

Normally, I wouldn't give us much of chance to win up in Seattle. Not because Washington is any great shakes these days but because it truly is a very tough place to play. We've had great, great teams go into Seattle and lose before. But I agree Ty W. is a very poor coach. He comes across very authoritative and serious, like he knows what he's doing but his track record stinks! I think we have a chance up there this fall jsut because Ty W. and his staff aren't that good. I predict he'll be canned at the end of 2008--for sure by 2009.
