While not the wisest thing to do, most of that is probably water weight, and he'll probably put on 10 lbs or so in the hours after he weighs in just by rehydrating.

It is not the healthiest thing at all to do, but with the lack of desire for food that comes with having your wisdom teeth out, it is not suprising. If you were sick for a week and did not feel like eating, you could easily drop 15-20lbs.

In my younger days as a D1 college wrestler, it was nothing to lose 12-14 lbs in a 24 hour period. Its all water weight.

Yeah those weight loss days. Fun, fun. I wrestled four weight classes under my natural weight. I told my bro-in-law that I measured at almost zero body fat and he didn't believe me. I didn't do the measuring, a physical fitness professional trained in that sort of thing did it. But he didn't understand what wrestlers do to themselves. I stopped eating on Wednesday and took sips of water until friday when I would eat an orange after weigh-ins. Every night after practice was a nice 6 to 10 mile jog depending on how many miles I did before practice. Yep, the good ole days!

When I wrestled in HS my senior year I started the season at 138 lbs for my first match in the 141 lbs weight bracket. Since 135 was that close I wrestled 135 from then on. Well I grew. Before the first practice after thanksgiving I weighed 148. I usually maintained my weight at 141. By not eating (I lived on slim fast) the day of the match I easily managed 135.

Two weeks after the season ended I weighed myself. 165...

It can be done.

FYI I weigh 210 now at 3.5% body fat. I sprint to the Y to warm up for my 20 mile mountain runs every day...

I bet you can throw a football over Y Mountain.

I have mad respect for wrestlers, and while I never did it, several of my cousins were state champs in Wyoming and could whoop anyone. Our HS wrestling coach would let some of us work out with the wrestling team so we could get in shape for ski season and it kicked our tails...Oh to be young again.

I don't care what weight Soreson comes in at as long as he can still boom FGs over 50 yards. However, he is a 'big' kicker and his size will be a bonus like it was for Matt Payne as he put the hurt and several MWC return guys his last year.
