The offence struggled because of penalties. There were more penalties called because Bronco requested that the refs be stricter. Don't get me wrong, they should still be able to easily move the ball, but I'm not worried. What really worries me is the high hopes we are all getting. A perfect season is totally possible, but it won't be easy.

Penalties are on of the things that do worry me, I am glad Bronco has asked the refs to call it more tightly, I hope we learn from these mistakes in Spring.

Does this worry anyone? After reading Cruiser's article I was expecting a little more from our offense. Oh well every team struggles right?

I am a glass half full guy, Our defense is going to be that good. The offense struggled because the defense is good and didn't like all the press the offense was getting. Everyone was freaking out during John Beck's Sr year because the D (which wasn't supposed to be good) was giving the offense trouble all through spring and fall ball and then the O put up 50 on just about everyone. The D was just that good and it is going to be the same thing this year.

Gaskins has continued his extremely poor spring. His first possession was an interception to Scott Johnson. On his 2nd rep he took one snap (I think) and threw an incompletion. After the imcompletion, Gaskins was pulled and McEuen came in. He moved the offense down the field inside the 10 yd line for the longest drive of the day. He was 3 of 5 for (guessing here) 35-40 yds. Both incompletions were dropped by receivers (DeLuigi and couldn't see the other receiver). The second was for a TD. The way spring has shaped up to date, McEuen has consistently outperformed Gaskins everyday. Max's performance was ok. His lone bright spot (other than the 15 yd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty) at the scrimmage was a ball thrown to Andrew George for 79 yds. I am not woried about Max at all. We have all seen his abilities. The battle has been at backup. McEuen's performance in the spring has been impressive. On the last 7 on 7 drill, he completed 8 of 9. The lone incomplete was dropped. He looks better everyday as he gets more and more reps. We may have a new backup QB. Gaskins seems to fading because of the competition.

I'm starting to think it's too bad Cade and Bower transfered . . .

That's funny because McEuen had been so bad. I've seen him in person a few times and have been far underwhelmed. Gaskins, on the other hand tended to impress last year. I guess that if either of them are forced to play, we'll be in bad shape. That's why I'm praying for our OLine to step up their play and for Unga and Fui to improve on pass blocking.
