I live in washington state, about 3 hours from Seattle and 11.5 hrs from Provo. I can find places to stay in this area for cougar fans headed this way for the game...

I would also be curious how many other CB posters live up here. I am near the Tri-Cities.

niqmadu,

I live in Sacramento and will be attending the game with about 15 other guys from, CA, TX, AZ and UT. This game will be our annual road trip to BYU game; last year we all went to the UCLA game and had a blast. If you have any suggestions for hotels near the stadium that would be much appreciated.

Is everybody driving or are some flying? Around Sea-Tac airport there are a number of good ones. But I kindof suggest getting closer to downtown if it works budget wise--you might look by the docks or Pike Place Market.

There are a number of hotels around the stadium (looking at google earth) but I don't know anything about them.

I may take my wife over and stay at a Bed and Breakfast the night before the game--I'd like to see one of the firesides.

I live right by downtown Seattle and can almost see Husky Stadium from my house...the wife and I are planning on hosting some friends from Utah to attend the game and see the Huskies lose big time to the Cougars!

Thanks for the input. How far is the stadium from the airport? Also, going to the fireside sounds like a lot of fun. When and if you get the logistics for the fireside, please post them on board for us.

Go Cougs

it is less than 30 min from sea tac to downtown, traffic pending. Huskie Stadium is north of downtown.

ltpwfdcm, what do you expect traffic to be like on gameday?

I live in the Phoenix area but am working a job near San Jose, CA. I'll probably drive up a few days early. I need to check out a few old gold & silver mining claims that I inherited about 25 miles NE of North Bend. I found a 1955 assay report from the old underground mine tailings pile that showed 6.5 oz /ton of silver and 0.75 oz / ton of gold.

Who knows? If the mine doesn't collapse on my head I might be able to find enough ore to pay for my gas...

When will BYU/UW tickets go on sale?

As far as gameday traffic...it can get pretty hairy...traffic is always bad right through the central core of seattle on I-5 as it bottlenecks down to about 2 lanes each way at one point. As far as right around campus...it is basically gridlock on gamedays. Best advice would be to take SoundTransit buses. Here is some information that I found to be helpful. http://www.washington.edu/commuterservices/get_to_uw/football/traffic.php
For those who will be coming up, I'd recommend going to http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/servall_page.pl and entering in your hotel info and planning to travel that way...
Single game tickets go on sale on July 28th. BYU game endzone tickets are $35 and sideline at $70 http://gohuskies.cstv.com/tickets/06-m-footbl-single-game.html They have a group discount for groups of over 20. For BYU the price drops to $46 a person for the sideline (no group discount for endzone seats) and there are 2 complimentary tickets for groups orders. Group tickets go on sale on May 1st...perhaps there could be a CougarBlue group organized to get the group discount for the game?
