1985 - BS Acct, 1986 - MAcc, currently executive in a retail chain in PA. Originally from So. Cal, part of the 50% of the students causing 50% of the problems at BYU in the early 80's. Served my mission in Japan, "o-genki-desu" currlently working with the youth in my ward.

Grew-up loving UCLA, and was going there before a Comm-College prof talked up BYU's accounting program.

Still bleed both Dodger Blue and Cougar Blue.

If you don't mind...what retail chain. I've spent the vast majority of my life in Pa and I'm just curious

The only direct connection that I have to BYU is a great-uncle that taught at the school. I have always cheered for BYU. Ty Detmer won the Heisman on my 12th birthday in 1990. I had the chance to attend BYU after my mission, but stayed closer to home because of my girlfriend/future wife (now ex-wife). Maybe I should have made a different choice.

Anyway, I now live near Dayton, Ohio, work as a Director of Finance at a government funded votech school, and spend as much time following BYU as I can.

I am currently finishing my Masters of Social Work degree at Bridgewater State College in Southeastern Massachusetts. Once i'm done, My wife and 2 kids are heading back to Utah, where I was born and raised. Originally from Orem, however I own a home in Eagle Mountain.

My connection to BYU goes back to 1983, when my Dad got season tickets for the first time. He started taking one of his kids to a game on a rotating basis. My neighbor (Mel Olsen) was the o-line coach back then, and one night he had invited Steve Young and Lee Johnson over to his house. He invited my family over and we sat and had dessert with Steve and Lee. We got autographs, and took pictures. I still have the picture framed. Although I was a fan from then on, it was defitenly the '90 season with Detmer that made me a true fanatic. I went to the Miami game, and I watched with baited breath the heisman announcement. I love cougar football, (basketball is a distant second!!!)

Lavell Edwards is my great uncle, was born in AF hospital (next room over from Gifford Nielsons kid)
been to nearly every bowl game since 1990 (Memphis is a craphole)
BYU/Utah years = 1992-1996 (post Detmer years) Missouri medical school 96-2001 (Army reservist in between as Russian/Bulgarian linguist then switched to take a commision as 1st lt. to pay for med school)
Mission = Bulgaria
Profession = medicine (psychiatry)
married in 2000 to KC Chiefs cheerleader, divorced 2 years later (if it looks to good to be true.....we had nothing in common, except we both thought she was attractive...no kids thank goodness)
remarried to my best friend, Melanie, in '05 have a 1 yr old daughter named Sofia (after capital of Bulgaria)
called Kansas City home since '88

I fell in love with BYU sports in the 80s (basically when I was old enough to care) , I have a fondness for the 86-89 BYU hoops squads and loved the Mike Smith, Jeff Chatman, Marty Haws, Jim Usevitch, Andy Toolson, Brian Taylor teams

I graduated from the Y in 2006 in Mech Engineering (I know, from my handle you'd have probably thought Business... lemmee tell ya, if I was man enough to get a handicap, it'd start with a 3, and that certainly wouldn't be the only digit. I guess I just enjoy cussing at myself on walks in lovely meadows... I'm much better at the "Dive" part of the name. Scuba is MUCH easier ), and I'm an Engineer in the semiconductor industry (read "microchips" for all you non-geeks out there). I live in Virginia, with my wife and our 10-month old son.

No real BYU athletic connection besides intramurals, although Danny Summerhays, Golf All-American last year, and his wife were friends from our BYU married ward. After my move out to Virginia, we drove down to watch a tournament he was in, and witnessed him shoot a round of 60. Lipped out his final putt that would've given him a 59. Most amazing round of golf I've ever seen.

Other than that, our last BYU Football game as students was in 2005, on the front row of the north endzone. On the last play, we were a mere 30 feet from the outstretched fingertips of Michael Reed, and unfortunately, only 29 1/2 feet from the ball. Wow. Yep, that play pretty well epitomized my 4 years of BYU football. I try not to get too bitter about THAT being my "BYU Football back in my day" football story, but I'm sure excited for the future.
