Actually, now that uniforms have been mentioned, someone asked me the other day if BYU was going to change their uniforms (they mentioned that when LaVell ran the program the uniforms would have changes every two or three years). I told them probably not, unless they are subtle changes (re: the Y on the neckline). It seems that Bronco is very into tradition and the alum are all in love with the current unis. Any thoughts?
Why re-invent the wheel? The whole phylosophy of Bronco's approach is consistenty, discipline, and hard work. That is how he is choosing to define BYU football. Changing things like the uniforms just seems like a gimick to try to instill a new look, motivate the troops etc. I think he puts enough emphsis on his core beliefs that, with the exception of changing the uniforms as he did to revive the BYU tradition, you won't see anything flashy. He will let the results on and off the field of the team be his statement.
When you start moving away from what got you to where you are, trouble is just around the corner. There will always be a subtle change here and there, that is expected with growth, but no major direction changes. That would just be counter productive, and take the teams momentum away.
Just my 2 cents. Hopefully they maintained their value!
