Sounds like I should be okay. The previous owner (a 90 year old widow) installed a ginormous analog antenna on the shed that stands about 15 feet higher than my roof. I never took it down and it is still wired into the existing coax structure, so I'll just bypass the Dish receiver tonight.

Karma for the help.

You should be in great shape, you might have to change the direction the antenna is pointing though

Just out of curiosity, where did you hear that the Jazz game was going to be in HD? (that'd be great if the got HD up and going in time for the playoffs, but I haven't heard anything about it until you mentioned it just barely)

I was reminded of tonight's broadcast while listening to A-Game this afternoon.

The HD is not up and running non-stop (as far as I understand it). KJZZ just recently got back the bandwidth they had leased out to USDTV. As long as USDTV had possession of that KJZZ bandwidth, KJZZ did not have enough room to broadcast HD over the air. However, with the bankruptcy and eventual dissolution of USDTV, KJZZ now has that bandwidth back, and they are ramping up for HD broadcasts. They have the equipment--they have broadcast a number of Jazz game from Energy Solutions Arena for FSN in HD using in-house equipment. They have access to HD broadcast antennae via the tower they collectively built along with the other local stations. They just couldn't use their own bandwidth until everything was ironed out legally from USDTV's dissolution last year.

Tonight's game will be the second Jazz game broadcast locally in HD--the loss to the Mavericks last week was the first, but I was out of town and unable to capitalize. Supposedly they are trying to iron out all the kinks with a few games now before the playoffs, but I don't know how many playoff games are going to be aired on KJZZ.

Sweet. I am now officially rooting for the Jazz to stay in the playoffs so I can see more of the western conference in HD. I don't have cable so I won't get any of the TNT games .

Question for Jazz fans. I'm a sonics fan, but I live in the Utah area so I know a little bit about what goes on with the jazz, and as I've been watching the game I have a curious question.

Where do you think Morris Almond will fit onto this team? The guy was the scoring leader in the D-league so I've gotta think he has some sort of future in the NBA, seems like he might even be able to contribute next year. Brewer and Miles both seem to be playing well though so there doesn't seem to be much room for another 2 guard. What do you guys think?
