Oh, P.S. and regarding the refereeing, I really can't agree with the title "worst refs in..." (pick your organization/level of abstraction), simply because a terrible referee infers incompetence/ineptitude at what he does.

Pac-10 referees do what they do purposefully and effectively. Unfortunately for all non-conference opponents who take the field against such officiating, what Pac-10 referees do is assure victories for the organization that writes them their paycheck. From a certain point of view, I'd say they do their job quite well!

The SEC boards are terrible. I stumbled upon an Arkansas board at the time Mitch Mustain transfered. The Arkansas fans were rather quite explicit on what they thought about Mustain. Still they hated Alabama more. The South is full of bigots.
From the UW board most of the bigotry was coming from one or two posters, and other UW posters have stuck up for us. That wouldn't happen on an SEC board. No one would be sticking up for us and the rest would join on.

I understand where your perspective is coming from, and no doubt there were some atrocious calls in the first BYU-UCLA game; and, of course the debacle from a couple of years ago in the OU-Oregon game is a horrible example as well. However, having watched every ASU game for the last several years, I can tell you this - it really may be incompetence...it really is that bad.

Don't let the U-Dub fans get to you. I went to school in the State of Washington and the U-Dubbers really think they are the only school in the nation. Most people don't realize that they are just as liberal, maybe more, than their Pac-10 brethren in Cali. So, of course they can't understand how someone can believe in a God other than the environment.

And since they are so liberal, their first defense is to call names. It takes too much brain power to actually try to put forth a logical argument.

I like Jake Locker, he's a great QB, but he doesn't have enough players around him. He can't carry the team all by himself.

I look to see U-Dub do better this year, but I just don't think they have the firepower to go toe-to-toe with the cougs.

It will be close because the games in Seattle. But I think we'll pull out a 7-10 point win.

I don't think it's fair to call Locker a great QB. He's a tremendous athlete and a great runner, but he's no better at playing the QB position than Curtis Brown was.

You're right. He's a great athlete. His athleticism gives him the ability to make some great plays. And at times, he looks really good at QB. But, he doesn't have a great arm and he tends to run when he gets in trouble. What he lacks in understanding of the game he makes up for with his legs. His athleticism makes it hard to defend him, but not impossible.

Max is 10 times better at QB. There really is no comparison.
